The message from President Obama seems to be that he "will launch a new effort to conquer a disease.....FOR OUR NON-RETIRED POPULATION, for they deserve it more. Citizens who are responsible for our very existence, for the support of our economy for a proportionately greater time than we, and who have paid longer into the same retirement healthcare system that most of us (other than myself) pay into now, will not be eligible for the healthcare for which “we” will be eligible, for the importance of our senior citizens’ healthcare differs from our own.”
There are no healthcare options for persons over 65 other than Medicare and affiliated insurance programs, no matter how much you contribute (unless by chance alone you worked for a company that provides continuing coverage for retired employees). Retired citizens will go to the "back of the line" in cancer care if CMS reduces Medicare payments for cancer care providers. It will then be economically unfeasible for those providers to give Medicare patients the same care as non-retired patients. God willing, all non-retired citizens will one day be retired persons/senior citizens. Those that advocate this reduction will then deserve the same medical care considerations that they are willing to give seniors of today. “What goes around, come around”. How sad that we seniors are biologically responsible for these advocates of inferior healthcare for retired persons.
I thank Obama because he has already made a difference in my Sons lives. Health Care is in reform and I have noticed a difference. I just pray all his bills get passed, Obama is the only president I understand when he gives his inaugural speeches. I only hope the parties follow his direction we will all be better off. I will vote for him next term.
I must help people to get cancer care without cost........ Doctor must bring organic pills to all people....... no illegal chemicals in drugs... peace out John Bias
i would like to no if this act would exsit if they or there kids or parents had cancer or if they depended on medicare or medicaid for health coverage think about it

Having been through the Gamma Knife, while for neurosurgery and not for oncology, I had to consult both a neurosurgeon and a radiation oncologist. I sat in the same waiting room--the size of a basketball court--at a very large cancer center.
It bewilders me that CMS would reduce those payments--radiation oncology is lifesaving tool that improves the quality of life for some patients, extends the lives of others, sometimes to the point they're cancer-free.
I'd urge--no, better yet, I challenge those voting for the cuts to sit in one of those waiting rooms, talk with even one patient, and tell them and their family that today is their last surgical procedure.
I've challenged an entire state legislative committee to get on a bus and show up and sit across a kitchen table from and explain to their own constituents why they cutting services for the elderly and disabled.
Not surprisingly, even the State Legislator who lived in an affected area couldn't tell his neighbors. Within a week, after having their phones bursting non-stop for a week with calls from not only every lobbyist but also every ordinary citizen in the state, most who opposed flipped and passed the legislation that restored services.
I guess that's easier than talking to your constituents. They and their families will talk, though--on Election Day.
I don't work there--but right before you decide to finalize that schedule, I challenge you to get yourselves right up the street to 23rd & K Streets, NW and tell a dying patient you're about to head back down K Street and Pennsylvania Avenue to pull their plug. (I won't buy the excuse that Foggy Bottom and the edge of Georgetown is a bad part of town. I have felt less safe in the immediate vicinity of The Capitol itself--in broad daylight.)
The following is quoted right from the website of a very reputable, very close place where you can find those patients: GWU's Radiation Oncology Center, at 2300 K St. NW:
"Imagine a machine that helps doctors plan radiation treatments for cancer patients with greater precision than ever before. Imagine equipment so sophisticated that it fashions a radiation beam to match the shape of a cancerous tumor. Such high-tech wonders aren't merely a cancer patient's dream for the future. They are a reality at The George Washington University Hospital's Radiation Oncology Center....This innovative technology offers new hope to some cancer patients who may have had more limited treatment options in the past"
This Health Care Bill is Un-American and Un-Constitutional!! What does "Ration Health Care" Mean???????? Why does the Government have DIRECT ACCESS to my Bank accounts??? How is this "only" costing 940 million dollars and where is this money coming from?? This is not the America I was born in. We are not a Communist Nation! Why is Massachusetts bankrupt? Because they tried a State-wide Universal Health Care and IT DID NOT WORK!! Why can't the President do a "Test Run" of this bill in his Beloved Illinois?? BECAUSE IT WILL BANKRUPT THEM!! Just like it will BANKRUPT THE Entire Country!!!! Where was the news coverage of the thousands of people protesting when this bill was signed!! It's time for us to TAKE AMERICAN BACK!!!!!!!!
This horriblecare is bad for America. Stop the medicare cuts for all illnesses and needs. We have paid into medicare since it's inception. Stop spending and start paying our doctors and hospitals the necessary fees for us. The only RIGHT thing to do is to implement that mandates the administration (including the president), Congress and Senate to obtain their insurance that matches medicare, if it is good enough for us it should be good enough for everyone.
This bill will cripple our nation. It is a good theory but will not work and will cause more harm than good. Obama is killing this country every minute he is in office. He is making the country what he wants it to be and not what the people want. People complained about George W. Bush, but Bush did a lot more good for this country even with taking them to 2 wars than Obama has done with bringing "change."
DO NOT PASS THIS HEALTHCARE BILL I AGREE WE HAVE TO REFORM HEALTHCARE BUT THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO DO IT. SCRAP THIS BILL AND START OVER. THIS HEALTHCARE DOES NOT BENEFIT ANY OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.
