S. 1679, S. 1796 & H.R. 3962 et al; Health Care Reform; is a gross attempt of governmental control of the population. This bill has no basis in the Constitution. Above that, health care is not a function of the government. It is unacceptable for the government to fine and imprison citizens for their choice to not have health insurance. This bill must be defeated! If not, the liberty of the citizens will be severely infringed upon. The government has no right to act as a competitor to private industry. The only possible reform can come from the decision of the consumer and the industry itself.
We are opposed to the Health Care Bill currently being considered in Congress for the following reasons:
Congress needs to listen to the American people. Polls show that a majority of Americans don't want government-run health care. By passing this bill, you will be ignoring the will of the people (as demonstrated in tea parties, town hall meetings and the march in Washington on 9/11).
We are senior citizens, ages 70 and 63. We don't want the proposed cuts of $500 billion to medicare. We have paid into medicare our whole working careers. Now Congress want to cut our benefits. We don't want government burocrats controlling our health decisions and giving us end-of-life counseling.
We are against illegal aliens having the same benefits that we have and having our taxes increased and our quality of health care decreased to pay for them.
We are against the health care rationing that will occur with government-run health care. There is no way that our doctors can squeeze in millions more people into their offices without longer waits and rationed care.
Government health care is a deterent to doctors, not an incentive. Many doctors have threatened to retire if this bill is passed. Future medical students will be discouraged from pursuing a medical career.
Who's going to pay for health care reform? Our government cannot afford a federal controled health care program. We are tired of the out-of-control government spending that has occurred during the short time that President Obama has been in office and before during the Bush administration. American families have to live within a budget. Federal and State governments should have to do the same.
We are afraid for the future of our children and grandchildren. We are beholding to foreign governments (China) who holds our debt. We fear the value of the dollar will continue to fall, and the interest rate and inflation will rise. On top of this, you propose to raise taxes to cover health care (not to mention what the Cap and Trade bill, if passed, will add in taxes!!!)
Americans are hurting. Almost 10% of Americans are unemployed, yet you are proposing higher taxes to support a program that Americans don't want.
Taxes will be raised on individuals making less than $250,000 a year, breaking President Obama's campaign pledge not to do.
Taxes will be raised on those who already have health insurance and on those who don't want insurance. Requiring everyone to have health insurance takes away our freedom to choose and is probably not constitutional.
What's the rush? By not putting the bill on line for us to view for 72 hours, Congress is not being transparent as promised by President Obama. If it is too hard for govedrnment to put a thousand pages on line, how can government possibly run such a massive program? Why did the President say he would go over it "line by line" and now refuses t
I see no reson the goverment need to reform health care. I believe we need to look at the current spending not spend more. We need to lower welfare, not increase. We need to stop the increases and work with less. we can do it. All elected people most listen to the people that they repersent. Good Day.

The government took our money for Social Security and Medicare all those years, and now the government, under Obama and the Democrats, wants us to turn over what's left and die.
Well pardon me if I am not willing to roll over and die and forfeit my future to Democratic Socialism. Pardon me if I care about my freedom of choice, your freedom of choice, and your children's freedom of choice. I say hell no to Obama/Hillary care.
Government cannot have this kind of power over people! It is the absolute power that will corrupt absolutely! I have several relatives being treated for cancer, and I know the cancer survival rates in countries with "socialized medicine"! It cannot come here!
Grandma got run over by a reindeer, when the guv had passed the brand new healthcare bill. PETA saved the deer from rack and ruin, but old Granny only got an aspirin pill!
I do not want any changes to health care, let the Doctors be Doctors and keep the government out of it. Hasn't the President taken over enough businesses????? I do not want to be like Canada. Where the old do not get taken care. The president gets free health care for the rest of his life, why don't all senators, representatives and the president and his cabinet give up all this and use what the rest of us, have to. BUY HIS HEALTH INSURANCE, like the working people do.
The comments in Forbes and from Mayo Clinic pretty much puts this whole thing into perspective. The impact of passing this healthcare reform will be devestating! Do not allow this "quick-fix" to our medical issues. Get the 'real medical experts', in on this....our nurses and doctors we see on a daily basis. Let us,the people decide what is best for us! NO to this 'band aid' you are pushing down our throats..it is not what 'We The People' want or need. SLOW DOWN!
Forbes nailed it when they said there are better ways to reform health care that does not involve bigger government. Read the May 11th edition of Forbes "Fact and Comment" for Mr Forbes' opinions on better ways to reform health care.
I do not want the government running Health Care. The government is getting way to involved in the private sectors. They shouldn't have bailed out all the banks and car companies either. No one would bail me out if my private owned company failed. Please do not vote for any bill that allows the government to run socialized medicine. If the government wants to help with health care then they should pass bills to help the private sector run more smoothly. If this bill gets passed then the private health care companies will eventually be forced to go out of business. They won't be able to compete. Please do not let the government get so involved with Health Care.
Are you kidding me? Why would anybody want to hold down a job when all of their hard earned money would go to everyone else who is too lazy to take care of themselves. I may quit working too since I know the government will take care of me.
I have been paying for my personal private policy for over 4 year so I could ensure my benefits. NO ONE should be able to take that right away from ME..! As an american I feel like I should have the right to make my own decisions about my health insurance.!
Here's a final preview of your letters to Congress.

Dear Representative Dreier,
Dear Senator Boxer,
Dear Senator Feinstein,
I am opposed to the health care bill for the following reasons:
It puts federal bureaucrats in control of health care decisions.
It shackles families with unknown costs.
It dumps families into a government-run health plan.
It makes bureaucrats moral decision-makers.
It disregards conscience options for patients, doctors, and providers.
It will discourage serious students from studying to become doctors.
It will by your own admission "ration health care."
The cost to support a program will be in the trillions, adding to our deficite and will at some time have to be paid by the tax payers. There seems to be too many power grabs by the federal government since Pres. Obama took office. The stimulus isn't working and Pres. Obama's advisors admit that there are no safeguards in place to track it and there has been fraud and misuse of this huge amount of money that has added drastically to our deficit. The cap and trade bill is another example of a power grab to control our lives, increase taxes and the cost of everything we consume.
The health care bill is just another way to limit our freedom of choice and will undoubtedly increase our taxes. Why should we trust the government to administer a health care program when they haven't managed social security and medicare efficiently and without fraud? Please listen to the American people! We don't want socialized medicine!!!
Sincerely,
Mrs. LuAnn Jenson
