To Whom It May Concern, Hello. I am starting a petition to stop making the FSC cigarettes for many reasons. I understand that someone thought they were doing something good when they tried to make cigarettes fire safe, but as a smoker myself, I do notice that there are many things wrong with this. First of all, they are NOT fire safe! The 'cherries' at the end of the cigarette falls off and burn you or the floor for no reason. They just fall apart. THEY CAN STILL CAUSE A FIRE! I have been burned from my cigarette while driving, and this made me worry if one day I would get into a car accident from getting burned while driving. Second of all, they keep going out while you are smoking them, and making people feel that they need another one and causing them to smoke more. They also taste disgusting. If the purpose of this was to stop people from smoking, then they should just stop selling cigarettes at all. Not change the way they have been made for MANY YEARS! Since they cost more now, they should be made better, not worse. Another factor is this, if people are really thinking that these cigarettes are 'fire safe', don't you think that means more people are LITTERING the planet and throwing them out the window because they 'won't start a fire'...? Last, but not least... is there any proof at all that the chemicals in these to make them be fire safety certified are not MORE harmful to people's health? They are killing people faster than they normally would with those crazy chemicals added to them. I believe they need to go back to making them the way they used to. These FSC cigarettes have to go.
Most people I've talked to don't even know about the laws. They just know they feel awful now and they felt fine before.
Would Congress ever vote to 'change' the contents of liquor for the safety of 'drinkers'? I think not.

GOVERNMENT ~ GET OUT OF OUR LIVES! What happened to freedoms and choices in this country? How many people are you, YES YOU BIG GOVERNMENT, going to murder because of 700 deaths they "think" is caused by people smoking in bed? How many people die by the hands of drunk drivers? These cigarettes are making people SICK! Do you get it?? Not such a good idea you had! Why don't you worry about the bigger problems you have created in this country and LEAVE US ALONE! We're not stupid, we know smoking causes cancer, etc. Stop trying to control our lives and treat us like children!

Please stop making these cigarettes. these are worse for people. And they are not safe in any way. Besides the added chemicals they are not fire safe. I have had several flame up in my face when they were lit

Ethylene Vinyl Acetate copolymer, which is the chemical added to the cigarette paper in small rings, is extrememly toxic and NOT SAFE for human consumption, Especially when burned and inhaled. It has been extremely irresponsible of state governments across the US to pass the FSC law without looking into the prolonged dangers of using the FSC products.

Give us back our cigarettes! I am 20 & very healthy, active & ever since the change I have noticed changes in my breathing and coughing. This happened almost immediately after the start of FSC. Not to mention the burn holes in my carpet/clothes ect.....which is a first for me.

Stop this madness who is going to assume responsibility when smokers start dying from the carpet glue our government is knowingly putting in cigarettes. We should make them chain smoke about 5 cartons and then we will see what they have to say about the FSC cigarettes then.

The signs and symptoms are very real ,the changes occur quickly and it does not matter age ,symptoms same for a recent smoker compared to long term smoker.We tell people their TV wont work cause of Changes but we dont inform smokers of something that could harm health much more..Being a Smoker is not a excuse to totally disregard my opinion.

i think fsc cigarettes are so harmful. they taste bad. they are making me smoke more because the go out. the chemicals in the fsc have made me cough more and spit up all kinds of nasty tings. the tobacco companies need to get it together aong with our goverment. if they wanted us to quit the needed to outlaw them not take a few more years off our lives to punish us. i dont beleive alot of the houses that have burned down due to cigarettes are true statements. i have fell asleep plenty of times with a cigarette lit. my house is still standing,alot of holes in blankets but not burned down house. GET IT TOGETHER U.S. TOBABCCO COMPANIES OH YEAH OUR GOVERMENT NEEDS TO GET IT IN GEAR AS WELL.

I have burned holes in my car, clothes, and the other day the hots fell off on my ankle and I have a blister the size of a dime. I feel these smokes are far more dangerous. Just because I choose to smoke does not mean the government has to choose what cigarettes I smoke. I have never burned my skin like this, nor have I had so many burn holes in my nice items. Not fair, bring back the old ones, or give me chose.
