PETITION - 7500.00 TAX CREDIT- NOT TO BE REPAID TO IRS
Sign the Petition : 240 Letters and Emails Sent So Far
If you were a first time homebuyer and bought a house between April 2008 and December 31, 2008, you were entitled to receive a $7,500 tax credit that MUST BE REPAID over a period of 15 years. If you were a first time homebuyer bought a house on January 1, 2009 through Dec. 31, 2009 you were eligible for an $8,000 tax credit that DOES NOT HAVE TO BE REPAID. This is NOT FAIR. We need to get congress to eliminate the requirement that the 2008 tax credit must be repaid. | |

I would have waited until 2009 to buy if I had known I would receive an $8000 credit that I did not have to repay. This is NOT FAIR!!

I would have waited until 2009 to buy if I had known. Either way I bought a house during a down economy and did my part. I feel like I am being punished for acting early in the interests of the economy.

The President says he wants consumers to be aware so he's made changes to credit cards and lending. So as a consumer I took out a loan for $7500 with the irs and I was aware I would have to repay it, however what I was not aware of is that in a couple of months after I bought my house you would change the loan to more money and no repayment option. Now Mr. President Obama who is not informing the consumers. Thank you for being fair and please eliminate the repayment
