I was diagnosed with endometrosis 3 years ago, my Dr did the surgery and said I was at Stage 5. I had spent years having pain and other doctors saying nothing was wrong. After the surgery we started Lupron, took it for a year, no problems. Fast forward 3 years I have horrible pain again, muliply cyst, and when they tried to do the surgery I had an allergic reaction and my throat closed. Surgery was cancelled my parents were told how lucky I was to have been there when I had my reaction. Thing is I have had surgery before never had a reaction. Dr suggest Lupron, I had already been out of work because of the pain for 2 wks. I said ok. That night, I woke up with the worst headache of my life, started vomiting, sweating, it was horrible. My fiance rushed me to the hospital they said I was having a reaction to the Lupron. For 5 days I had this headache, and cramps. The headache is gone but it's been 20 days I still have cramps. I have noticed how depressed I have been lately and I wonder that bubbly woman I was disappeared after I took the shot the first time. I am 33yrs old and getting married in Oct, 2010 we want children. I am afraid to take the shot again. Can't congress help us in anyway. This comment has been reported to the site manager. I've signed this before, and I, like the others are still suffering, but no longer in silence. It is the groups and support of my family, and the lupron family that have helped me through this, while the Drs bury their heads in the sand.My PCP said one time that lupron caused all the things wrong with me, but if you ask him today, in a legal setting, I'm sure he, like all the other Drs will do a complete 180. Drs don't like to go against other Drs.
What gets me is that when Lupron was commiting ins fraud by giving free samples and the Drs were billing insurance companies, and getting lavish trips to get us to take their poison, it didn't take long for the government and legal people to step in then.
I would love to see all the people that are ignoring us, in the FDA, the DRs that are saying it's safe to have these shots, and anyone that works at companies (the higher ups that make the decisions), to be the guinea pigs, let them take the poison.
While each month my health gets worse and worse, I'd love to see how they would handle it, and I also would love to know if they would give this poison to their friends and family. I wonder what is said around the water cooler when one of them brings up that their Dr says they need to get lupron shots.
I would bet any amt of money that they would move heaven and earth to convince that person NOT to get involved with Lupron.

I have suffered daily since my treatment with lupron! I wish i was told that this was all possible side effect I would have NEVER had it as part of mt endometerosis, ovarian cyst treatment! Please remove it from the market! It has caused me nothing but more pain and problems it was no help!!! I so far have sufffered memory loss, tachycardia, hematura, dizziness, insomnia, some anxiety, some depression, Diagnosed Vitamin D deficiency, constant gnawing bone/joint pain, osteopenia, osteoporosis, diagnosed fibromyalgia, diagnosed degenerative disc disease, autoimmune diseases!! This drug is toxic and they do not inform you that these things can happen just that it will stope your mensus! This comment has been reported to the site manager. THIS DRUG ABSOLUTELY SHOULD NOT BE APPROVED BY THE FDA....MANY,MANY LIVES HAVE BEEN DESTROYED BY LUPRON!! HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE TO BECOME TOTALLY DISABLED OR EVEN DIE FROM THIS DRUG BEFORE SOMETHING IS DONE! THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE AND THE FDA SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES FOR NOT REMOVING IT BY NOW!This comment has been reported to the site manager. Lupron has changed my life dramatically. After nearly a decade of no complex PTSD symptoms, they returned full force after Lupron shots along with mood changes. It's been a year and a half, and I still can't get back to where I was pre-Lupron,This comment has been reported to the site manager. It will be reviewed and removed if inappropriate. Thank you!

It is imperative that these drugs have intensive and continued studies to verify the safety and to identify potential side effects (remember thalidomide?)This comment has been reported to the site manager. It will be reviewed and removed if inappropriate. Thank you!

I was on Lupron Depot for a 2 year period, 10 years ago. Now, I am 49 years old, and have the spine of a 70-80 year old woman. I am missing two lumbar discs completely, and a third is almost gone. I will be lucky to be able to walk in the future. Degenerative Disc Disease, completely attributed to use of Lupron Depot. This isn't the life I thought I would have. This comment has been reported to the site manager. It will be reviewed and removed if inappropriate. Thank you!

I was put on Lupron at age 16 to treat endometriosis. I was on the shot for 4 years. I find it ridiculous that in order to try and treat one condition by using Lupron, I now have multiple other problems I believe are a direct result of taking this drug. When a doctor says, "I hate to do this to you....but you need to take Lupron." That tells me even the doctors know that it is not good.
I have just to name a few:
memory loss
depression
joint pain
migraines
PLEASE prevent this from happening to anyone else.

It all started with a small ovarian cysts and endometriosis. I had a bladder condition that was under controle with 2 pills a day. Then I took 3 lupron shots. 3 months of the shot was all I could do. I also had adenomyosis. It caused my bladder condition to worsen and is now not controled at all which is not explained. I also ended with Pelvic Congestion ,(varicose veins in the pelvis) that was unexplained because it normaly affects women who have kids and I dont have any. I had 3 Laparoscopic surgeries to try to fix or repair the veins with no help. Countless meds, and I even had to go on leave from work for almost a year because I could not be on my feet due to the blood in the veins. The only reasion I can think of for me to have this condition is the shot. I didnt have it before but I did after. I ended up having to have a full hysterectomy at the age of 27. I am now 29 and have been told I have fibromyalgia and have to go to a sleep study dr next week. I hasnt ended since the first shot I took 4 years ago. Now I am having really bad migrains and numbness and stuff and trying to find out what is causing that. Who knows right now. PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEE studdy this some more. I AM 29 people. I am not suppose to have to feel like this. I do not have a life without pain. Everyday I take 10 rx.and some of them I take several times a day and I still have trouble. This is not right. I was healty till the shot. This comment has been reported to the site manager. It will be reviewed and removed if inappropriate. Thank you!

I have diagnosed infertility and I am making the decision whether or not to do IVF. I am choosing NOT to do it because of what I have discovered when I researched Lupron. It is part of every protocol I have been offered, but I found out that it's not approved by the FDA for use in infertility, that the FDA classifiies it as a "Category X" hazardous substance not to be taken by pregnant women as is is a reproductive and developmental toxicant that will cause fetal abnormalities. Technically, you stop taking it 4-6 days before embryo transfer, but it is still in your body at that point, so your eggs and your embryos must have some exposure. No one has been able to give me a good answer as to how this is safe. I was also disturbed by the information that one of the original major researchers falsified 80% of the material in the clinical studies published, and that there are class action lawsuits against the manufacturer by thousands people who've had neurological and bone problems, among others, after using Lupron. I wasn't told any of this by my doctor, it is nowhere in the informed consents or educational process, and it should be. The studies to prove safety need to be done. The idea of giving up is so painful, but I don't know if it's responsible to myself or my future child to use Lupron, and that after all the time it's been on the market, that no studies have been required. I can't believe that this information is not part of the informed consent process. The manufacturer at one point started clinical trials for safety and efficacy in IVF then abruptly stopped them without explanation. If the manufacturer will not voluntarily address the safety of this drug, the government must step in.This comment has been reported to the site manager. I took only one 3.75mg shot of Lupron in preparation for fibroid surgery. Six months later my stomach is still bloated from the drug (not the fibroid, which was tiny). This is further causing me to develop depression, anorexia, and PTSD. This drug is not safe to take even once!!!This comment has been reported to the site manager.
