Please Help Prevent An Unfair Deportation

Should people really be fully judged by one mistake that they make in their entire lifetime? Jorge has been living in Chicago, IL for the past 13 years going to 14 years illegally and is currently 20 years old going to 21. He has attended elementary school, and graduated high school. Jorge was currently supporting himself working at a tire shop while managing to save up money to attend college. In March he was having a small get-together at his apartment and having a few drinks. It was late at night when one of his friends had to go home. Not realizing he was a bit buzzed he made the youthful mistake by deciding to drive his friend home. He got in a small accident. He hit a fence, no one was hurt. On his way to the police station he asked the police officer to pull over because he felt like vomiting. The officer refused to so Jorge vomited in the police vehicle. The police officer then became angry and punched Jorge in the mouth while the officer's partner hit him with his baton. We have images of his mouth and his arm for proof along with his bloody shirt. This is his first and last D.U.I. and is being accused of it being his 3rd one, making it a felony. Jorge and his lawyers are currently trying to clear this up. His arrest alerted immigration of his illegal status so INS put a hold on him and didn't release him right away even though his bond was paid. Because of this, Jorge couldn't go to work and lost his job as well. Now after experiencing police brutality and losing his job they're trying to deport him to Mexico. To make things worse, he has no family in Mexico to go to. All of Jorge's relatives are here in the U.S.A. Please help, something has to be done to stop this injustice to a hard working and educated person. | |
