this is a natural environment for the seals! humans don't need to neglect nature any further! human interests should not trump natural sealife!
Please let the seals stay so I can share them with my granddaughter!
There's plenty of beaches for people! Give poor seals some space!
Help preserve seal beach in La Jolla. Besides being a great tourist attraction, it's a place that seals occupied for years. Let them have their home - there are many other beaches in La Jolla, leave this beach to seals.
This is the seals home...not ours! Let them have their cove. Humans are not all deserving!
This is great! Let's rally and help save the seals. I also just launched a new site that features local San Diego musicians who donated songs with all profits going to save the seals. Go check it out at www.SDHomegrown.com.
THE COVE IS THEIR HABITAT. WHY ANY PERSON WOULD CONSIDER IT THEIR RIGHT TO DISRUPT THEIR HOME IS INSANE. THEIR IS MANY MILES OF COAST. STOP TARGETING THIS SMALL AREA. IT IS THEIR HOME NOT OURS.
This area should be fenced off from the public, this is the seals home. We have no right to disrupt nature. Please seal off this area for the seals .

C'mon humans, LEAVE THE SEALS TO THEIR BEACH!!!
My daughter is 37 and grew up in La Jolla with these seals. Leave them alone. There is no reason to not give nature a little slice of the world. There are plenty of places for people to go on the beaches of San Diego and La Jolla. If San Diego cannot figure out how to make space for these innocent beautiful animals, then they should stop calling themselves America's Finest City -- Shame on all of you who want to hurt these babies and their mothers. Makes me ashamed to live here. I have 2 grandchildren and they would never dream of hurting these wonderful seals or any wildlife here in this wonderful marine environment. Let the seals be so my grandchildren can enjoy them. They can swim in many places and there is no need for them to swim or dive in the Cove of La Jolla.
This is so tragic!!! Why in the world would anyone bother these seals? There is a whole coastline of beaches in SoCal. This is absolutely ridiculous! When are they going to start upholding the law. Here in Fla we can't harrass the Manatees and we take our wildlife very seriously. What is going on in California???
these seals should have this place to call their own. people have taken enough natural habitats away.
The ocean is the home of these beautiful creatures, who are we as human beings to try to keep them out. they aren't hurting anyone, and to use this area for children would not be wise because the currents would wipe out many children and hurt or kill them...save the seals!!!
Went to the cove to see the seals. To my horror the cove was full of people instead. The seals were swimming up but stopping 20-30ft from the beach too afraid to get any closer. Humans have miles and miles of beaches along the coast, why can't the seals have this one?
Water and beach is not safe for people at this cove and will make these children sick. Why push the seals to another cove to make unsafe. Just give them their resting area back.
What we are doing here is disgusting. As a community we all enjoy their presence and have made a terrible decision. We are invading there sanctuary!!! SAVE THE SEALS!!!
"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals [and children] are treated." --Ghandi
The seals are as much a part of this community as the people are. They don't have very many places where people can admire them and the unsafe tides and high bacteria levels are harmful to children therefore making it pointless to take the habitat back and make it a children's pool. Our own San Diegan sea is tested constantly to maintain the bacterial levels and we should give the seals the same thing. Their water is riddled with bacteria and can be very harmful to seal pups, we need to pay attention to not only our greedy human selves, but to the animals that make La Jolla such a joyous place to visit or live.
when so many wonderful creations of nature are in fact disappearing by our hands, we should let these beautiful creatures alone. they continue to come there because they feel safe.
its wrong to frighten them or remove them.

The beach and the ocean is their natural habitat. When something or someone invades our natural habitat we tend to kill it so should the seals have a right to kill us for invading their natural habitat???? SAVE THE SEALS AND LET THEM KEEP THEIR HOME!!!!!
There is no shortage of good beach area for children and adults. These seals need that beach for safe resting, breeding, and sleeping. It would be cruel to remove them and another sad moment in the human races damage to other animals.

Please, keep the seals.
There is dozens of miles of beach for everyone to use. Is it really necessary to take away this tiny patch from the seals that have been there for decades and attract tourists, just because of a little greed?? C'mon...this is their safe haven from marine predators. This is their home to feel safe, have babies and be enjoyed by the thousands that come to see them. I am a life resident of San Diego and want them left alone! This isn't about the kids, it's about the selfish adults. The kids would much rather see the seals there then have that little patch of sand (compared to all that is available) to play on. Lets get real! SAVE THE SEALS! SAVE THEIR HOME!!
The seals are just too cute to kick out!!! Who doesn't love little baby seals. They roll around and high five each other.
Hello- On July 11 my grandson left a pair of black bausch-lomb binoculars on the Save the Seals petition table at the La Jolla beach.
I am in Colorado - please send me any info.on whom I might contact to try and find them. bhherndon@comcast.net
Being a native of la Jolla and having grown up spending many days as a child playing at the Children's Pool and jumping of both side of the sea wall, I strongly favor keeping the area as a safe refuge for the seals that congreated there. The beach side where they have taken up residence is a small, inconsequential space of beach compared to the rest of the shoreline the inhabitants San Diego. The seals propbably do more for the local economy than the locals themselves, as far as tourists coming from all over just to see the seals and spending their money at local retailers thru out the area. Plus, what a great educational opportunity for children to see the seals in a natural habitat, instead Please let the seals stay where they are and let the people move either north or south along the shoreline a little way to indulge in their beach activities.
We have to preserve this part of our natural world. That tiny speck of beach should remain theirs. Californians and tourists have miles upon miles of coastline on which to sun and swim. Please don't remove the seals from The Seal Pool!
You can still take kids to enjoy the Children's Pool, just experience it in a different way. It's an honor that they have chosen this spot. What a special treat for children and adults to see wild animals in their natural habitat. There are other places to go in the water, but no place else to see the seals.
The seals bring joy to so many people and positively impact sales for all La Jolla businesses. Please let them stay. We love them!
We must save as many natural habitats as possible to preserve California's declining native wildlife.
The wall donated for a children's beach is not a good enough reason to move the seals. The woman paid for the wall, but did not own the land, ocean or have the right to direct the nature that should be protected for the children's future.
