The SEC had knowledge and chose to not protect US citizens - they had numerous options at their disposal. Urgency is shown by the governement for many other victims - but so far none for Stanford victims - many of whom are old and do not have time - their final years being made a nightmare by the government's failing to do it's job. Please help.
Before buying the CD's, I did extensive research on SIB, and I could find nothing indicating there were any problems which now seems very strange as so much had been going on in the courts, long before I invested. If the SEC was protecting my investment in any way, investors should have been able to find at least some form of warning or caution, but none was given.
Help! Cover our losses now. SIPC was supposed to make their stement on the SEC ruling by mid-September, Well it is almost the end of Cctober, and SIPC is still not moving. The government shows more empathy and compassion to GM, banks, and green companies than it does it's own citizens. This entire scandel could have been avoided if the SEC and Dept of Justice had done their jobs years ago. Now that the SEC has ruled in favor of the victims, the SIPC is doing nothing. So the government, via its maze of agencies, continues to harm us. Please make the process move faster so we can have our money returned to us.
SIPC coverage shoud apply the Stanford victums as in the Madoff fraud. Allen Stanford took money from the sale of CD's and did not innvest it as promised. Also, certificates for the CD's were not issued. This action was theft of the funds and should be covered by SIPC insurance.
We need help now, not two more years from now. SIPC funds need to be distributed this year. The disputes between the SEC and SIPC are only causing us more harm. Please so what's morally right and honor the SIPC funds to us quickly. Thank you.
We need your help. We lost $200,000 by investing in CD's suggested and sold to us by the Stanford Group. We did so after checking and finding out that the SEC had no issues with the Stanford Bank.
We are retired and in our 70's and lost much of our retirement due to our government not doing their job.
It's been two years now and we see no progress in recovering our money. The government, specifically the SEC, is reposnsible for not doing their job and should be held accountable. If we had know that their was suspecious activity with the CD's for years, we would never have put our retirement money or any money into them. They were also presented as safe and protected by the SIPC.
Is anything happening that will help us? Congress is so concerned about helping banks, helping GM, helping large companies, but what aobut us 'regular folks' who have lost their life's savings.
PLEASE MAKE PROGRESS ON OUR BEHALF AND HAVE THE SIPC COVER OUR LOSSES. That is the right and honorable thing to do.
Ingenuamente yo creía en las leyes norteamericanas. Tenía la percepción de que sus autoridades protegían los intereses de los inversionistas. Es lamentable que después de su inacción e ineptitud, ahora se desentiendan de su resposabilidad con los inversionistas del SIB. Pregunto, como es posible que las autoridades de USA dejaran operar en su territorio a una corporación que se autodenominaba "banco" y cuya publicidad señalaba que las inversiones estaban aseguradas, y no hicieran nada.
Creo que esto nos debe de servir de experiencia a nosotros, para que cada uno trasmitamos a nuestros hijos, hermanos, amigos, etc. Que no cometan el error de invertir o ahorrar en USA ya que sus autoridades no tienen ninguna ética ni respeto por el esfuerzo de personas que como tu y como yo, trabajamos para forjarnos un futuro.
Esas autoridades solo nos ven como un % y no están interesadas en cumplir con su deber, al fin y al cabo ellos si saben donde no deben de invertir su dinero.
Por mi parte, nunca mas invertiré un pinche dólar en usa, de hecho ni siquiera en dólares, sus autoridades no sirven para nada; su sociedad esta podrida y su moneda dentro de poco tal vez te saldrán con la sorpresa de que no vale nada (claro; mientras eso les permita ganarse a unos cuantos en el poder, unos billones).
Invierte mejor en tu pais o en tu negocio, y olvidate de esos mugrosos gringos estafadores de cuello blanco, que por dizque lograr el "american dream" venden su alma al diablo y arruinan la vida de quien tenga la desgracia de confiar en ellos.
The govenment should take care of its people. We fell victims to Stanford, but we are also victims of the SEC and Dept of Justice not doing their jobs and keeping information from the public. It is time for the government to own up to its responsibilty and restore our loses through the SIPC coverage.
Hay momentos en la vida, en los que uno no entiende los porques de lo que pasa...tantos años trabajando en la creencia de que cuando uno actua de buena fe y de una manera legal y correcta, todo sale bien...., pero luego de situaciones como esta que acontece con la legalidad del standford, me doy cuenta que solo dios sabe realmente los porques, el es el unico que ve el panorama completo, yo solo lo puedo ver desde mi punto de vista que por supuesto es el de afectada....espero que dentro de los legisladores que revisan y dictan las medidas en este caso especifico, existan personas que velen por los intereses de aquellos quienes depositamos nuestros ahorros de toda la vida....A todos los afectados igual que yo, mucha luz y armonia para lograr entender en algun momento todo esto. Y a todos quienes trabajan en el congreso, mucha vision y justicia...
